The display is bright and easy to see, even in sunlight. The cost difference for what it adds to do the double sided was a no brainer for me, especially when comparing to some of the other fully finished display solutions on the market. At the finish line, I don't get people trying to crowd in front of the clock (which often would be in front of the camera) to see the times, because it displays on both sides. The font size adjusts to fit names as results are scrolling through, so unless it's a really long name, it doesn't get cut off.
We use FinishLynx for our track and field meets, and Agee Race Timing for our RFID readers for Cross Country and Road/Trail races. Super easy to integrate with both programs... I had both programs displaying times within ten minutes of taking the clock out of the box. For XC and Road/Trail races the name, place and finish time automatically pops up when the ART system picks up a chip read. For track meets the results scroll as we are reading the image. Parents and coaches love it, and it has become customary that once they recognize it does that, their phones are at the ready to try to get that picture with their name/time on the display. It really adds a nice touch to our events.
Support can take a product from good to great, and the support piece Finished Results provided is an important one for me personally. Before I made the initial investment in this equipment, Chris and the folks at Finished Results were super helpful in explaining the way it works and were even able to help me when I had one take a tumble during my teardown process after a meet. The display quit working, but they were able to give me a few steps that got it back up and running. That was about a year ago and I've been using it regularly since then. To me, if someone is going to stand behind their products in that manner, it means something. I felt good enough about the purchase for myself that we just got four more for some of our other timers on the team.

When I first started in this business I didn't know what I didn't know. I just went with what I saw others doing, and that included the display options at the time. Once I got my feet under me and started actually doing a little more research and digging around, I came across these clocks. So glad I did. If you are on the fence about a display, I would say jump on the side of this display. It's an investment that has added value to the service we provide our clients. This is not to say my original display is "bad", as we do still use it, but I've actually had clients request sending someone from our team who has this display if possible.
